weekend workshops | sept 5th & 6th | learn how to make a folklorico skirt

begin your journey in learning the process of how to make a folklorico skirt!
In this workshop, the primary focus will be to
- understand and learn how to calculate the amount of fabric needed
- cut the fabric into the corresponding pieces
- learn how to gather/ruffle fabric
- make & prepare to attach the waistbands
- please note: there will not be enough time to finish the skirt. however, you will receive instruction and written notes on how to complete your skirt at home~
the workshop dates are: September 5th & 6th from 10am to 4pm in person, in Brentwood California (94513- northern ca.)
you only need to bring yourself!
all materials (7 yards of 60" wide fabric, thread, cutting & measuring tools, & sewing machines) will be provided for you to practice on!
sewing skills necessary: how to use a sewing machine, sewing a straight stitch & back stitch
open studio hours on sept.6th: if you sign up for sept. 5th or attended a previous class or workshop, you can sign up for additional studio hours on sept.6th (11am -2pm) to continue working on your skirts (the instructor will be primarily occupied teaching the workshop but can answer questions when available)
